2026 Jubi Arriola-Headley South Florida Book Prize

O, Miami is accepting submissions for the first annual Jubi Arriola-Headley South Florida Book Prize from June 15 to August 15, 2026. Our new book prize supports the publication of an outstanding full-length manuscript by a poet with strong ties to South Florida. The prize honors the memory of beloved poet and community member Jubi Arriola-Headley (1969-2025) and seeks to strengthen and recognize the immense talent and potential of the South Florida writing community.

Eligibility
- Open to emerging and established poets regardless of publication history
- Open to South Florida residents, former residents, and others with enduring ties to the region, defined as Palm Beach County, Broward County, Miami-Dade County, and Monroe County
- Current and former employees and board members of O, Miami are not eligible to submit
Submission Materials
- 1 full-length poetry manuscript between 48 and 100 single-spaced pages
- Multiple poems must not appear on one page
- Title page, table of contents and name of the submitting poet on title page only
- Open to manuscripts written in the major languages of Miami, not including works in translation
- Individual poems may have appeared in other journals or anthologies, but the manuscript as a whole must be unpublished
- 1 statement explaining poet’s relationship to South Florida
